Pinos hike August 2, 2010\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p><br>\nCar\u00adol, Mar\u00adgaret, Ralph, and Ashe (<span class=\"caps\">TUS<\/span>) along with Vir\u00adginia spent the day on Mount Pinos find\u00ading flow\u00aders, chat\u00adting, lunch\u00ading, and hiking.<\/p>\n<p>Vir\u00adginia and Ralph arrived at Ashe\u2019s at 9:00 a.m. where we piled into the Vol\u00advo and drove down the hill to pick up Car\u00adol then on to Carpin\u00adte\u00adria to get Mar\u00adgaret on board. We decid\u00aded to dri\u00adve south on Hwy. 101, in on Hwy. 126 to Inter\u00adstate 5, then up to the Mount Pinos exit. A short stop at a Sub\u00adway for Ashe to grab a turkey sand\u00adwich and tank up then it was on task, i.e. off chas\u00ading flowers.<\/p>\n<p>We end\u00aded up at the 8,300 foot park\u00ading lot where we had a nice hike into an adjoin\u00ading mead\u00adow then stopped for a shared lunch before hik\u00ading on up to the 8,800\u2032 sum\u00admit of the moun\u00adtain with lots of botan\u00adi\u00adcal stops and vis\u00adit\u00ading along the&nbsp;way.<\/p>\n<p>Our return dri\u00adve was quite spec\u00adtac\u00adu\u00adlar, through Lock\u00adwood Val\u00adley to Hwy. 33 then down to the edge of Ojai before skirt\u00ading Lake Casitas on Hwy. 150 and on into Carpin\u00adte\u00adria to drop Mar\u00adgaret off before head\u00ading to San\u00adta Bar\u00adbara, arriv\u00ading home around 7:45 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>To see a slide show of our <strong><em>won\u00adder\u00adful day<\/em><\/strong> click on the image&nbsp;above.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Car\u00adol, Mar\u00adgaret, Ralph, and Ashe (<span class=\"caps\">TUS<\/span>) along with Vir\u00adginia spent the day on Mount Pinos find\u00ading flow\u00aders, chat\u00adting, lunch\u00ading, and hik\u00ading.
